blues du jour

this weekend i spent some time with a friend’s friends and i managed to piss one of the hosts (an established cultural worker) off just by being me. i quite enjoyed that.

we create or own paradise, or we find ourselves in it, experiencing moments or periods of bliss. but nothing ever lasts..
the gruesome events in norway came as a chock, though madness like that
happens all over the world all the time. but i believe that what’s true for paradise also goes for ‘hell’.

infamous bar in southern stklm. kind of a depressing place, hence this melody.

swedish ladies kickin’ french butt in germany (though the geishas made the swedes bite the dust two days ago). i´m not a sports fan but i have a flare for cheap metal.

two ferry rides (apart from the train) on my way back to sweden (putgarden-rødby, helsingør-helsingborg) and a tune is constructed. i wrote ‘sturdy’ as an instruction on how to approach the melody due to the fact that those ships are rather slow movers.

on the train back to berlin, stopping at wolfsburg. a huge wolkswagen-sign bside the station. an annoying door signal. there it is.

on the road again, not bringing my computer. pen and paper will do though.

after a few days break it´s time for another one, here´s a jubilant(?) piece dedicated to swedish author, director, comedian, composer hans ‘hasse‘ alfredson who reluctantly turns 80 today. he together with trumpeter/arranger bengt-arne wallin created a classic children’s album in 1965 that i listened to a lot, and it seems that new generations continuously find their way to this masterpiece. the title song is called ‘blommig falukorv’ (rosy sausage from Falun) and i borrowed some notes from it. a true humanitarian (with a dark side i believe) and great artist. thanks for all the good work over the years mr alfredson!

this one has a lot of notes in it, due to the story of my friend tt who went to istanbul for an art project but her host talked endlessly so eventually she had to flee to remain sane.

unfortunately i can’t play it..

brother olof (right) is visiting from kalmar, brother tomas is joining from S:t eriksplan. in 15 min we are going for dinner at an italian restaurant.

on my way to volt in uppsala. something will emerge..

emptied the freezer and found some yummies, still good for a late night snack.

last night as i was biking my way through the night, contemptuously passing the red lights of an empty street crossing, a police van pulled me over and the serious gentlemen inside said “naughty naughty, but we´ll let you off the hook for this time”, thereby saving me a fine of 1500 kronor (€150). thank you universe.
